Have you ever wondered....
by Hecklerboy inwith all the attention on terrorism in the world today and with the goverment cracking down on some anti-goverment groups.
will the witnesses be next on the list of groups to be watched by the goverment?
maybe even taking action against them.

What intrigues me about all this is that the JWs seem to think they are such an important 'force' in opposition to established governments. Has it not dawned on them that they are a small ineffectual cult not even worth noticing? They really exaggerate their own importance right enough.

Will the average age of Witnesses go up with time?
by JH in.
my parents go to a catholic church, and they say that the average age is in the 60's.. at the kh, the average age is about 30, if you calculate the age of the children too.. theoretically, the average age of witnesses should go up with time .
if less and less people become witnesses, the average age should go up, just like traditional religions....no?.

Definitely - In my old congregation the vast majority are 60+, with many suffering from ill health and the usual ravages of age.

District Assembly, Elland Road, Leeds about 15 years ago
by New Worldly Translation inthis memory just came to me and i wondered of anyone else remembered it.
it was at the district assembly where the questions young people ask book was launched.
all the young ones had to move and sit together in one stand of the football stadium.

This reminds me of a story my mum told me about one of the Scottish conventions about 3-4 years ago. it was held in St. Johnstone Football Club's ground McDermid Park.
Apparently three elderly sisters wandered down trackside and spent the assembly in the dugout, eating their sarnies and having that old assembly speciality - tea in a flask.

When did you stop growing ?
by frenchbabyface init's seems that people can grow about until they are 25 (unless a sickness still make them grow).
i've stop growing at 12, i'm the same size since then 5'5'.
also they told me that anyway having a baby at 14 would had stop me growing anyway that i should have been taller !

OOOOO very posh! Corned Beef - very impressed LT - and did you open a wee tin of Salmon on special occasions? lol!!!
I might have reached 5'6 if it wasn't for my mother's obsession with Findus Crispy Pancakes. I was also very skinny until I got to 30. I couldn't get above 7 1/2 Stones (about 120lbs?)and used to wish for some extra weight, as I couldn't go out in swimwear as people would often offer me sandwiches. Could eat like a horse and not put on any weight. Well, my wish has been granted, I have been truly blessed..*sobs*

I stopped growing about 14/15. I grew about 3 inches from 12-15 years old and am about 5'4" - can stretch to 5'5" if I don't comb my hair!
My mum is small - 5 feet exactly, and my dad is the same height as me. That's why I can address him -
" Awright Weeman.."
Most of my family are small - a lot of West of Scotland people in the 50+ bracket are small. Something to do with powdered egg and Spam during the war.

I am beginning to wonder if this is the beginning of the end for the British royal family. I can't really imagine Charles as King, to me he doesn't have the strength or charisma, and now having Camilla in tow won't help.
I feel sorry for the Queen, for over 50 years she hasn't put a foot wrong and has fulfilled her duties with the utmost professionalism and dignity. Her family, however, has succeeded in greatly damaging the monarchy's reputation as a UK institution. This damage will be hard to repair.
I agree with what Nina says - Diana was just a pawn in a big game. She was far too young for Charles and she naturally assumed that his feelings were as strong as hers. No wonder she lost the plot eventually. My hypothesis is that Charles needs a mother figure and Camilla fits the bill perfectly.
